Still
using WinHelp (aka Windows Help) for your online help or documentation?
If so, it's time leave WinHelp and move your online help or documentation
to HTML or XHTML. Here's why:
- WinHelp
has been officially dead
since 1997.
- WinHelp
looks, and is, old-fashioned.
- WinHelp
is not web-capable.
- WinHelp's
use of macros may be a security risk.
- WinHelp
authoring tools are disappearing.
- Few
developers know those tools
.
- Fewer
developers know the code behind the authoring tools.
- Rapidly
declining tech support from Microsoft and the authoring
tool vendors.
Hyper/Word Services
was one of the first code-level developers, and one of the first to develop,
train, and consult on tools like RoboHelp for Word and ForeHelp. Use that
experience to move your material away from a dead format and into the
21 st century, using authoring tools like Flare and RoboHelp HTML.
