Thinking about “mobilizing” your online help or documentation? You can get into mobile app creation, or use RoboHelp 8+ to convert your online material to mobile form. The result isn't a native mobile app but rather an eBook in ePub format that should run on almost any ePub-based ebook reader, like the Barnes & Noble Nook, or any mobile device with an ePub reader plug-in.
Conversion is straightforward mechanically, using conversion features in the RoboHelp interface. Where things can get tricky is in the design and control of the content, such as deciding what content to show or not show in mobile form and how to control that, how to control the formatting by using CSS features like relative sizes, and more.
This one-day, hands-on, web-based workshop is aimed at RoboHelp authors who want to quickly get up to speed on converting existing projects to ePub-based ebook output. Requires RoboHelp 9. (The instructions are modifiable to 8 but specific to 9.) Previous experience on one or more RoboHelp projects is helpful but not necessary.
