Madcap Flare Stylesheet

If you're moving to Flare from another help authoring tool, you'll find that Flare's stylesheet editor is very powerful but different than other stylesheet editors that you may have used. And if Flare is your first help authoring tool, you may find the stylesheet editor overpowering at first.

To help you get over that initial hump, Hyper/Word Services offers a stylesheet for Flare that will help you learn to use the stylesheet editor, and that may apply to actual projects.  This stylesheet comes with a document that explains the concepts of styles and style sheets in general, how styles work in Flare specifically, and how to use the Hyper/Word Services stylesheet hyperword.css.

The template includes fifteen pre-defined styles for:

  • H1, H2, and H3 (for first, second, and third level headings).
  • Normal (for body text).
  • Table head and table body.
  • BulletLevel1, BulletLevel2, and BulletLevel3 (for three levels of bullet).
  • ContinueLevel1Bullet, ContinueLevel2Bullet, and ContinueLevel3Bullet (for un-numbered steps after each level of bullet).
  • Note, Caution, and Warning.

Instructions

Follow this link to download a zip file that contains hyperword.css and the instructions. Download the file into any temporary folder on your PC.

When you finish, unzip the file into your temporary folder. Read the instructions in the Word document, then copy hyperword.css into the desired project and go to work.
